Innovative energy pile system from the NETZER GROUP heats and cools at Wohlgenannt in Dornbirn

The NETZER GROUP demonstrated its innovative strength in the planning and implementation of an advanced energy pile system for the extension of Otto Wohlgenannt GmbH in Dornbirn. The system consists of 400 static piles, which serve both as deep foundations and for the use of geothermal energy. For this purpose, they were fitted with pipes and designed as geothermal heat exchangers. These piles use geothermal energy at a depth of 15 to 30 meters: In summer for cooling and in winter for heating using a heat pump. An impressive 90 percent of the piles have been activated. Another important component of the system is a highly efficient refrigeration machine that uses ammonia as a natural refrigerant. This machine stores,

The heat generated in the ground is stored like a battery so that it can be used later in the operation of the heat pump. This technology allows the building to be heated and cooled completely free of CO2 emissions. Almost 95 percent of the required power is provided by the heat pump, while the rest is covered by the public district heating network. This form of energy also replaces the gas boiler in the existing building, which leads to a further reduction in CO2 emissions at the site. The NETZER GROUP thus proves that sustainable and efficient energy use is not only possible, but also economically feasible.
